Graphic Evidence

I’ve just stumbled on two “films”–actually slide shows–which graphically show the lopsided nature of our current farming and food situation. Although filled with many statistics which might not mean anything to you, they are both essential for you to see if you eat (and I am sure you do) and value your continued freedom to do so.

“Food, Inc. tells the story of how our food gets from farmers’ fields to supermarket shelves. Along the way it explains the food supply chain, provides a short course on global economics, and illustrates the influence of corporations on food production and supply. Food, Inc. adds colour and comprehension to the complex and critical issues that define today’s food supply chain.

If you care about the price of your food, this movie is for you. If you care about the quality of your food, this movie is for you. If you care about the security of your food supply, this movie is for you. If you care about the people growing your food, this movie is for you.”

Farm, Facts or Fiction: Whining farmers or serious, intelligent, vocal opponents of an increasingly out of kilter feudal system?
